This ITIL® course has been produced in order to provide a complete management level overview of the various lifecycle aspects of ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle (ITIL MALC); including the managerial concepts and core information on the processes, roles, activities and techniques required to manage services across their lifecycle. The course will also enable students to prepare for and sit the examination for the ITIL Qualification: Managing Across The Lifecycle (ITIL MALC) (2011 edition). The managing across the lifecycle course is compulsory for those wishing to gain the ITIL® Expert qualification.
Who Should Attend Our ITIL Managing Across The Lifecycle (ITIL MALC) Training Course?
Delegates are required to have achieved a minimum of 17 credits from any combination of ITIL V3 or 2011 edition units OR a combination of V2 Practitioner and V3/2011 units, including an ITIL® Foundation certificate in IT Service Management or V2 to V3 Bridge equivalent.
The ITIL MALC Course Content
This certification completes the Lifecycle and Capability streams by focusing on the ancillary knowledge required to implement and manage the necessary skills associated with Lifecycle practices and includes:
- Key concepts of the service lifecycle
- Communication and stakeholder management
- Integrating service management processes across the service lifecycle
- Managing services across the service lifecycle
- Governance and organisation
- Implementing and improving service management capability
The ITIL MALC Course Structure
Classroom: This is an instructor-led classroom (physical or virtual) based course that uses a combination of lectures, group discussions, assignments and sample exams to reinforce the key learning topics, and is based on AXELOS Best Practice Guidelines as documented in the ITIL Service Lifecycle books (available for purchase separately).
eLearning: This is a self-paced online version of the course which uses recorded lectures, checkpoint tests and sample exams normally available for a 90-day licence. The exam is provided remotely online after the training.
Blended: This is a combination of eLearning and 4 regular 2-hour progress/revisions usually spread over 8 weeks.
It is recommended that students should complete at least 28 hours of personal study by reviewing the syllabus, foundation and intermediate materials and other relevant books in preparation for the exam.
The ITIL MALC Professional Qualification
This course completes the ITIL® Lifecycle and Capability qualification programmes and leads to the ITIL® Expert qualification. The format for the exam paper is 10 scenario-based multiple-choice questions. At least 8 of these questions will relate to a single case study, issued in advance with additional short scenarios providing further background to their respective questions. They are gradient scored questions with one answer is worth 5 marks, the next best 3 marks, then 1 mark and a distracter that achieves no marks. It is a supervised, closed-book exam – the duration of which is a maximum of 120 minutes (if taken in native language). The pass mark will be 70% or more.
